GreenTree Android Client

The GreenTree Android Client application has been developed for tablets in order to facilitate and speed up the, in situ, tree inventory process. In a few minutes, the user can enter all the required information n for each tree, as well as mark its location on the map.

The application provides the ability to record more than 100 different parameters for each tree. It also provides the ability to record the potential locations where new trees can be established, as it allows the user to capture empty tree pits. The environment of the application is very user friendly and no special training is required in order to handle it.

The collection of information concerning -firstly- the woody species aims at creating a tree inventory. The preparation of the tree inventory is a process in which all trees of an urban green space are recorded, evaluated, characterized and placed spatially. Establishing a complete tree inventory creates advantages for the proper management of urban greenery, making GreenTree an essential planning and management tool.

The data recorded in the field works are transferred from the tablets to the server, where a constantly updated database is formed.
